Becky Carter

As the Senior Curriculum Specialist, Becky takes a lead role in developing new curriculum and aligning existing curriculum to the Next Generation Science Standards. She also serves as a lead instructor on the Science Adventure Lab, and assists with data collection and analysis.

Becky graduated from Western Washington University with a Bachelor’s Degree in General Science and endorsements in K-8 Education and K-12 Reading. In 2002, Becky continued her education at Lesly University where she received her Master’s in Education with an emphasis in Technology. Prior to joining the Science Adventure Lab, Becky was a 3rd and 4th grade classroom teacher in the Mukilteo School District for 14 years. Her favorite subjects to teach were mathematics and science. Becky was the lead teacher for the partnership between the Science Adventure Lab program and her school. She saw firsthand the impact a Science Adventure Lab visit can have on students, so she left the classroom and joined the Science Adventure Lab team.

When Becky is not at work, you will find her coaching soccer, leading Camp Fire meetings, spending time with her family, reading, and riding the bus back and forth from the Research Institute.
